Wedding planning can be a very stressful and labor-intensive process and includes hundreds of individual things to plan for. Planning the budget, colors, food, flowers and music are all things that should be considered for the big day, and if done correctly will also make it look easy.

Planning a wedding anniversary is just as important, and is meant to celebrate the happy union between a couple for any length of time. Every anniversary is special, and should be treated as such.

Some married couples may choose to celebrate alone with a romantic dinner, or others may choose to throw a big party with all of their friends and family. You first need to determine which type of celebration you’d like to have before planning a wedding anniversary, and account for your budget, age and who you’d like to invite.

Most couples prefer a party in their home, and will begin by sending invitations to guests after printing them on a home computer. If you really want to splurge, you can also have the invitations personalized at a local printer. This will cost some money, but will create a lasting impression on your friends and family you choose to invite.

Some believe that planning a wedding anniversary party that’s perfect should include elegant decorations, several guests, fancy floral arrangements and even favors for guests. Of course, others prefer a more private type of party.

It should be up to the couple to determine what type of anniversary celebration is right for them. If it is you, then this will be easy. If not, you may need to approach the couple and ask them what they’d like at the party.

A great DJ is a perfect option for entertainment and background music if you’re planning a wedding anniversary party. Guests can dance if they please, but you’ll need a dance floor for this of course. You don’t want everyone to become bored and start to leave after only a few hours, so make sure you work with the DJ to choose just the right mix of modern and fun music.

It is often said that planning a wedding anniversary is much like the wedding itself. Some of the traditional reception activities are used to make the wedding anniversary extra special. Some couples even wear their original wedding attire if they still can!

A proper cake is necessary for a cake cutting ceremony, and each member of the couple can give a speech and toast their guests for celebrating with them. Other guests may also offer speeches for the happy couple and well wishes for many more years together.

Another great option to consider when planning a wedding anniversary is throwing a surprise party for the couple. Of course, you should only do this for a couple you know well enough to ensure you can plan something that fits their taste and style. This may require getting input from their children or other family members and friends that will be able to advise you better.
