You have been invited to a wedding and are ultra excited about having an opportunity to dress up, but what to wear? You will probably know the bride and groom quite well so you should have an idea of the type of wedding it will be such as formal or more laid-back. If you are unsure, don’t be afraid to ask so you can be sure to dress appropriately.

However, wedding attire etiquette is pretty standard across the globe. First and foremost you will want to avoid wearing white, you don’t want to compete with the bride. Black and sequins dresses are good for the evening reception but not a great choice for a summer daytime ceremony.

If you have been invited to the full event, you may wish to lay off the sequins and add a bit of colour if you are opting for a black dress.

Avoid wearing an outfit that is too revealing or glamorous. Not only is it inappropriate but you would probably feel rather uncomfortable especially with the unapproving glances of the other guests. If you are wondering if your dress is indeed a bit sexy then it probably is. Instead, go for some fabulous accessories with an elegant and sleek dress.

Unless the wedding is exceptionally flamboyant, it is best to stay away from any over-the-top accessories such as arm -length gloves and glittery stoles. It is still possible to look fantastic without going over board on your outfit.

Many women avoid wearing a pant suit as a choice for their wedding guest attire in favor of a dress, as sometimes they can be a bit formal and business-like. However, if you are keen to wear a pant suit there are plenty of beautifully cut dress pants that can be combined with a pretty blouse and jacket. However try to stay away from those dark and gray business colors.

For a beautiful and appropriate outfit, it is a good idea to go for something feminine but not overtly sexy and a colour that fits in with the season. Make sure you will be comfortable in the outfit, you will be wearing it for a long stretch of time.

Weddings are a time to get dressed up and look your best. Give yourself plenty of time to shop around for the perfect outfit and remember to choose a color that compliments your complexion and figure for that truly perfect outfit.
