Create a Perfect Beach Wedding!

The perfect wedding reception venue is unfortunately not going to come knocking on your door. Just like the other aspects of wedding planning, organisation and research are paramount. When looking around for a venue for your wedding reception, try to view a wide range of venues as it is not always the obvious choices that are the best.

Your budget is clearly going to be one of the most important factors when choosing your venue. Settle on an amount and try not to waiver. It will be tempting to increase the sum, but this could impact on other plans and you may regret extending your costs. If you are starting from scratch and have absolutely no idea what you want, setting a budget and sticking to it will give you a good foundation from which to begin your search.

Once you have your budget, you may want to consider a venue that can also hold the ceremony. If you are not going for a church wedding, you could combine both the ceremony and reception in one venue for ease and convenience.

Is the size of the room big enough to accommodate your guests? The venue staff will probably give you a number for which the room will hold but you may want to double check for yourself, they may slightly overestimate and you wouldn’t want your guests to be crammed tight.

The venue should also be large enough to comfortably hold your plans for wedding reception music whether it be a band or a DJ also depending on the size of the band. Some venues have an area for a stage to be built or have a permanent stage in place. This is ideal for the band to be situated out of harms way and will allow plenty of room for dancing.

Next, you will need to find out how long you have the use of the room. The caterers will require additional time to set up and you will need extra time to decorate. You may have found what you think is the best venue but with the wedding reception timeline, you could find yourself struggling to get everything set up.

A great way to save time on setting up your reception room, is if the room in question has some existing flowers and decoration. Some venues are elegantly adorned with flowers and sculptures, this could impact positively on your budget as well as ticking another box.

There are many factors involved in your choice for the perfect wedding reception venue. The main emphasis should be on giving yourself ample time to look around and keep in mind these points to find a reception that will cater exactly to your needs.
