Selecting Appropriate Flowers for Your Wedding Tables

You will want the entire wedding reception room to look fantastic, however, there are certain focus points which will probably get more attention than others. Due to this, selecting your flowers requires a bit of effort.

Probably the main focal point is the head table where the bride and groom will sit. This table will either be situated at the top of the room in a line formation or in a prominent part of the room with a circular table, depending on the shape of the venue. But, regardless where the table is, it will obviously gain more attention than any other.

So, what flowers to choose? This will depend on the color scheme of your wedding. Maybe you want a pretty pink rose bowl as your centerpiece or a Bird of Paradise will always look stunning. If you are using roses, you could take the decoration a bit further by scattering some perfect rose petals near the centerpiece on the white linen tablecloth.

Vining flowers are perfect for decorating a wedding reception. Flowers such as Morning Glories or Sweet Pea can be used to drape around the backs of the seats, or if there is an archway above the head table.

The centerpieces for the other tables of the reception need not be as large and ornate as the head table, but still a pretty arrangement. Some like to go for a long vase with height, holding daisies or lilies. This gives a real focal point for the table and something to comment on.

Any other table or surface in the reception room may also be adorned with a center piece type flower arrangement. The buffet table is a good example of this. These are usually pretty long, so you may want to have one at either end of the table.

Similarly, the table for the gifts may have a small vase or bowl of flowers for decoration. The table for the guestbook would also benefit from an array of beautiful flowers. This table will be placed at a conspicuous area receiving lots of attention. You may want to have something a bit different on this table such as orchids to give individuality.

Finally, there is the table for the wedding cake, another big player for attention. The type of flowers you choose will depend on the colors and flora on the cake. Maybe you might want to go understated or fancy. If your cake it adorned with small roses, you might want to match with a vase of stunning roses.

With the tables sorted, you may want to continue with a bit more vining flowers for added effect on other areas of the room. It is your wedding and you can got to town or go for simple and elegant.
